Program Funding

San Jose Water Company employees recognize the need and responsibility to support organizations in the community. The San Jose Water Company Employees’ Community Fund, Inc. promotes employee and retiree involvement in their local communities by providing the means to support other non-profit organizations through employee contributions. The conditions and limitations of the Program are described here in detail.

Contributions to the Fund:

San Jose Water Company employees may make contributions to the Community Fund via payroll deduction, personal check, or cash.

Contributions made by an employee are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Grants from the Fund:

Grants will be made only to qualified charities consistent with the Fund’s policy to provide support to community service organizations.

A maximum amount of $500 may be granted per application.

Employees of San Jose Water Company who have completed the nine-month probationary period of service or retired employees are eligible to apply.

Applications will be considered based on the level of employee involvement in the organization requesting funding, intended use of the funds, and level of community benefit.

Forms to be considered must be received by the posted deadline. The deadlines, along with a list of meeting dates, may be found on the Community Fund Calendar page. Recipients will be notified of grants awarded within thirty days after the deadline.

A listing of persons and organizations who have received grants can be found on this website.
